I do not know if an Elkhart Serial number list exists or not.īig Thanks to Dr Rick's Vinllage Flute and Sax Shop website for providing some of the serial numbers and years produced. If you see one of these horns and the owner is claiming they are from the 1920s or 1930s or before, then they are using the wrong serial number chart. Most were made post World War II possibly up to 1960. Search for the serial number of the brand Buescher / Bundy to determine the age of your instrument. Engraved on the saxophone near the horn is 'Elkhart Built by Buescher Elkhart - Ind.' along with a decorative heart and eight point buck design. These instruments had their OWN serial numbering system. The Elkhart Built by Buescher carry case features a soft blue interior lining to protect the saxophone. The bell is engraved with the words ' Buescher Aristocrat Elkhart-IND. Below the serial number there is an engraving '140 Buescher True Tone Reg.

so I have listed BOTH numbers, I think the number MORE accurate would be 326000. The serial number is '346184' making this a 1951 vintage horn. Handles, and hinges on the case are in working order. Includes original Buescher True Tone case. Serial number dates it to the early 1950's I believe. trombones, which are located on the slide. *1950 Serial number is different on various sites. Buescher 400 Tenor Trombone T-Bone 1951 Here is a heavily used Buescher 400 trombone that is in need of servicing to get it into top playing condition. The serial number on trumpets are located on either side of their center valves.
